I leased an MKZ this past fall. When closing I was offered wheel insurance and passed on it.
I did so because I am familiar with nice wheels and costs. I know I can buy a nice set of better looking ones for around $1000.00. Well last friday I was on one of our destroyed Michigan roads and hit a pothole. I was able to pull into a repair shop within a block.
I was told the wheel was bent and had to be replaced. Well I called the dealer only to be shocked to hear one wheel was over $1000.00. Yes that is what they said. If I had been told and it was procedure that all buyers knew of this terribly over priced wheel I would have just left or bought the offer.
It made me sick as I waited and looked at wheels the shop is selling. The ones that were better than mine were just under $1000.00 for a set of 4.
There is not one thing about these Lincoln wheels that would ever justify the cost. Learned a brutal lesson.
